Real Milk

When Snugs was 11 months, she stopped drinking formula. She actually stopped drinking just about everything, even water. After a visit to the doctor, she started drinking chocolate milk after my mom and I forced it in her mouth. That is the only thing she would drink, and then eventually added in water. Oh, I forgot to mention that it had to be WARM chocolate milk. Every time. Every now and then, I'd try to sneak in some plain milk, and she would NEVER take it. Until yesterday. I finally got her to drink a sip of real, plain milk from her sippy cup. I'm trying not to hold my breath because today I have given her plain milk only, and so far, it's working. She's drinking it! And it's cold! I hope our warm chocolate milk phase is over.

Adhesive Gift Wrap

Who would have thought? Apparently, Hallmark. I was cleaning out our office/throw everything in there space and was reminded of the awesomeness of this stuff. My mom and I bought it for the baby shower we attended for 4 of my cousins. It worked great! Check it out here.

I went to the dentist . . .

. . . and I just got back. I had a slightly sore spot on one of my molars under the gum. I was so paranoid that it was some major problem. I don't love going to the dentist because it makes me so nervous! I just want to pass the exam and not hear the word "cavity". Apparently, I brush too hard. I've made the gum recede a bit. Luckily, it's not really anything to worry about. Happy day! I passed!

It's fixed! Well, almost . . .

Since we got back from AZ, things have been a bit of a mess around here. We got home late Saturday night, and our heater was on. Hmm, I knew I had turned it off before we walked out the door the previous Saturday. I went to the thermostat, and the heater was off. However, the blower was still blowing away. How does that happen?! We spent the next two nights in a cold apartment. Poor Snugs was a bit chilly. On Monday morning, Hubby called the maintenance crew. They came over to fix the heater, and while they were at it, decided to take a look at the dishwasher and the towel rack in our bathroom. They couldn't get anything fixed by Monday night. After the maintenance guys left, I jammed the disposal full of sweet potato peelings. Lesson learned: never jam four potatoes worth of peelings down the disposal and expect it to make it. After Snugs went to bed, we spent some time unsticking the stuck. One job down for the day, and we did it ourselves! Neither Hubby or I claim to be good at fixing things. The maintenance guys came over early this morning to keep working on the furnace and dishwasher. Five hours and two trips to the hardware store later, the heater is working again, and the towel rack is fixed. Hooray! However, the dishwasher has been removed from the premises. Hopefully, it will return shortly. Trying to keep Snugs out of the way is a bit challenging when all she wants to do is see what is going on. She made friends with the maintenance guys though and would wave at them every time they passed by her. What a cutie!

Workin' Out Goal

After too much food, too little exercise, more food, and the holidays; Hubby and I have decided to hit our new workout goal hard. We have decided to each workout 5 days a week for one month straight. It might not seem like much, but it's definitely a commitment for us. We both used to exercise almost every day until the Snuggie arrived. Now, more than a year later, we still aren't back into the groove of things. We don't go to the gym together anymore since our schedules are so different now. We tried to alternate early mornings, but it wasn't enough time for either of us to meet our goals, and it's hard to get out of bed and out the door when it's zero degrees outside. After sitting on our couch, while snacking, and watching this season of The Biggest Loser, we decided it was time to make our move. So here it is - 0ur goal is in writing, in a public place, ready - set - go.
We started today.

Plan Toys

Marné received this fabulous toy from her Uncle Tommy and Aunt Kami for Christmas. Kami loves wood toys, so I was excited to see that it is something she really likes. Marné loves this little stacking ring toy from Plan Toys. She has played with it so much already, and Plan Toys is a green company. Wood toys are old school, and you know they are built pretty well. I'm excited to check out the other things they have.

NYCB Nutcracker

The highlight of my trip to NY was seeing the New York City Ballet's Nutcracker. It was absolutely stunning! The sets were elaborate. The costumes were gorgeous. The dancers were breathtaking. I want to go back. Thanks Mom and Dad!

Family Photos

Before we left for NY, I had my friend Alli take some pictures of our family. We had been trying to get together for some time, so I was hoping things went perfectly with our little monkey. I tried to make sure things were perfect for the monkey - she was fed, well rested, and looking her best. Let's just say none of that even mattered. Marné was a total grumpy girl. She was just starting to walk more confidently, but she refused to walk much at all. She kept laying flat on the floor with her face touching it, and if you tried to pick her up, she'd let her arms go totally limp. She cried most of the time, but the photos turned out surprisingly well thanks to Alli. And I got to wear my new birthday coat and shoes. Yay!

Trying to get back on track . . .

I keep trying to post things to my blog, but it's not letting me upload pictures. That, and I just got back from NY a few days ago and don't want to do much of anything yet. Still recovering from the holidays I guess. I'm hoping to have a bunch of new products in the next few months. NY definitely offers great inspiration. Stay tuned!
